Stunning Landmark Hotel London Wedding – Gurpreet And Simran

The Landmark Hotel London Wedding – Gurpreet and Simran

As Asian wedding photographers in London we’ve been lucky enough to shoot incredible weddings at some amazing locations. The Landmark, Marylebone has to be up there as one of the best. We were beyond thrilled to shoot this beautiful Landmark Hotel London wedding.

We were at the iconic hotel to photograph Gurpreet and Simran’s civil ceremony. It was a very intimate affair compared to their much larger wedding which will be taking place in Tuscany. We can’t wait to join them out in Italy for their celebrations.

The Landmark, Marylebone is one of London’s most well known hotels. Opening in 1899, The Grand Central (as it was originally known) was a London railway hotel, sitting alongside Marylebone Station. It has a long and interesting history, including a Royal opening ceremony attended by HRH Princess Louise, daughter of King Edward VII. Undeniably, The Landmark is the epitome of five star grandeur. It is beautifully decorated, sophisticated, tranquil and, as they proudly state on their website, “an oasis of luxury in the heart of London”.

Weddings at The Landmark Hotel, Marylebone

In the late 1800s magnificent hotels were being constructed all over London. The Savoy opened in 1895 and the Hotel Cecil in 1896. Both set a new standard of five star luxury.

Wanting to outclass both The Savoy and the Hotel Cecil, leading architect Col. Robert Edis designed The Landmark around a truly stunning central courtyard. Not only did this courtyard ensure that all the bedrooms were light and airy, but, by allowing horse and carriages to drive straight through the grand entrance, it also meant that guests could arrive at the venue in comfort and privacy.

Taking things one step further, Edis glazed the entire courtyard, creating a central atrium unlike anything London had ever seen before.

This incredible atrium is still breathtaking today. The courtyard is bathed in natural light, and the glass roof means that hotel guests can enjoy the space whatever the weather. The atrium is filled with palm trees and tropical plants – a clear contrast to the busy London streets outside! It was the ideal spot for some beautiful portraits of Gurpreet and Simran, following their perfect Landmark Hotel London wedding. We especially loved the grand staircase that leads down into the courtyard.

We could’ve chosen anywhere within the hotel for portraits though. Everywhere we looked there was beautifully styled decor, grand doorways and huge arched windows. We really were spoilt for choice!
